Day 12!
Today we were going to visits some homes to see how they live and to give them advise about hygiene etc. My group had to visit 5 homes and in each house we had to fill in a list, so Lwengo can see under which circumstances people in their village live. Unfortunately, 2 families weren’t at home, so we could only visit 3 homes. It was interesting to see how people live in Africa. After the home visits, we went back to the school in Lwengo. We ate something and started with the second part of the program, namely helping an old woman to peel her peanuts, because she was too old to do it all by her own. We visited her home and peeled peanuts for 3 hours. Then we went back to school and ate some dinner and ended the day with a debate. We debated about the function of voluntary work in developing countries. We went to bed early, because tomorrow we need to wake up at 5 ‘o clock, because we are going on safari!

Day 13!
Today we woke up at 5 ‘o clock, too early, but nobody grumbled, because we are going on safari! During the safari we could sit on the van. We saw a lot of zebras, but also an ibex, a buffalo and many other animals. After the land safari, we had a water safari. In the water we saw a lot of hippos! The hippos were bigger than I thought, even the babies were quite big. In the water we also found some crocodiles and we saw some raptors. We bought some souvenirs in the shop and went back to the Lwengo school. At the school I had a conversation with Wiliam (one of our drivers), about his standards and values of religion and love. It was really interesting to hear his point of view. He for example got a wife, who was chosen by his father and they married after one day seeing each other. He did not understand that people in the western world divorces, because you choose a wife for your whole life. After our long discussion we ate some dinner and ended the day with the game ´weerwolven´. We had to go to bed early, because we also woke up early, but we did not like that, so went back when almost everyone slept to see the starry sky. Unfortunately we laughed a bit too loud, so one of our leaders came to know we were still sitting outside. Better luck next time!

Day 14!
Today was the last day that we were really going to help to local inhabitants. The day started with breakfast and after that we visited a local hospital to help them to clean it. We started washing the glasses etc.. During this, I thought about the differences compared to a hospital in the Netherlands. In the hospital here many people are lying in one room and they told me needles were used more than once, so HIV is easily spread. I would definitely choose for the Dutch hospital. Then we back to the school. We drank something and the second part of the program could start, namely football. We played against some school kids, they were definitely better than us, but we still got a lot of chances. Unluckily, we got a goal against us in the last minutes and we lost the game with 0-1. After football we went back to the school and the goodbye party started almost immediately. The school kids sang for us some songs and we even danced together. In the afternoon we ate something and visited Masaka. We ended the day as normally with ´weerwolven´ and we went to bed around 12:30 pm..

Day 15!
Today was our last day in Uganda. We started with breaking off the tents, cleaning the school class and eating some breakfast. Than we moved to Entebbe and left our bags in a hostel close to the airport. We went to a hotel with a swimming pool and we spent our last hours in Uganda around the swimming pool. After swimming we took a shower (still cold water) and moved to our hostel. Almost everyone slept for some hours, but I did not want to sleep, because I wanted to enjoy the last hours in Africa. Around 12 pm. everyone woke up and our trip to the Netherlands could begin. I really enjoyed my stay in Africa!!
